Blurring the lines between visual merchandising and sculpture, performance and net art, wit and criticism, TIS-NAT (an ongoing multi-platformed project) presents bespoke Chinese finger traps. Dubious of the luxury they try so hard to inhabit, the traps wonder aloud what would happen if they could be successfully resisted, as the bond grows tighter with every challenge raised. Acting as both burlesque and devotee to consumer culture, the allure is akin to a perfume ad; the smell is assumed sweet while a pinch of bullshit lingers in the air.
